JT – 3 year old male Cross-Breed

JT is a four year old medium to large Cross-Breed. This boy is a bit special. He has already beaten the odds by recovering from distemper when he was younger which few survive to tell the tale. It is common for survivors of this awful virus to be left with some degree of neurological damage and JT has a permanent nod which looks rather odd at first but doesn’t hold him back in any way shape or form. JT is fostered in GT Yarmouth (FR001)

JT is a really sweet affectionate and cuddly boy with those he loves. He’s a little shy around strangers initially but easily swayed with treats. JT gets on really well with other dogs but could live equally happily as an only dog. He walks perfectly on a lead and is fantastic off lead, rarely going far from you and comes back when he’s called. He travels perfectly in a car, is house trained and can be left home alone for a few hours without issues.

Certainly people who first meet JT feel sorry for him because of his nodding but anyone who spends any amount of time with him learns that the issue is with them and not him because you would travel a long long way to find a dog happier than this one. JT spent a long time in a shelter in Romania, he had no chance at all of being adopted here but safe rescue was founded to help dogs just like JT and to find the special people out there that see past a so called disability to the heart of the dog within and this dog has the heart of a lion!
