Katka is an 18 month old female Cross-Breed. Katka is fostered in Caister (FR036). Her passport says she is 18 months old but I think she could be a fair bit younger. Katka was caught by dog catchers in Romania and taken to the Radauti public shelter. Due to being unceremoniously thrown into a pen with older dogs she was unfortunately attacked and her tail was severed. Luckily for her there were volunteers around to intervene as the outcome could have been much worse for her. She was pulled from the shelter and taken to the vets and the rest, as they say,is history.
Katka arrived into our care a shy and timid girl who screamed each time she was touched. Within days she was a much more ‘normal’ pup and was asking for cuddles and getting up to mischief! There are still moments of nervousness but this plucky little pup has come so far in such a short time and somebody somewhere will be very lucky to have her.
Katka seems to like children but they must be of an age to understand her initial shyness. She ideally would like to live with another confident dog. She’s not met cats here but she is young and trainable and I’m sure a confident cat could train her well.
Katka is still a baby but has been clean in the house, she does steal and chew shoes as does any self respecting pup 😉 she will need training and guidance.
