Kennie – 1-2 year old male German Shepherd Cross Collie
Kennie is a stunning German Shepherd cross Border Collie, who is approximately 1 or 2 years old. He has lived in a house that was total chaos, with other dogs, rabbits, children and screaming adults on the go all day and because of this he had really closed down and became resigned to his standard of life.
He was in at a local pound and has started to gain his confidence and they could put a lead on him. He has shown no aggression at any time, in fact he is a big softie, if just a bit shy. He knows sit and he just loves his tennis balls. He was originally picked up as a stray, but then the council found out his previous address and contacted them, but then realised that the lady in the house has an order on her banning owning dogs and her son is having a pleasant time in prison. So basically Kennie had his 7 days and has been brought down to us to rehome. He is a big gorgeous boy who really does deserve a kind loving home. We cannot fault him one bit. Kennie could possibly make a nice obedience dog – he has a very nice ‘lifty’ front leg action, which could make for very attractive heelwork. More updates will be added…..
This is what the pound said about Kenny. I have spent time with him at the pound getting his confidence and I can get a lead on him now. He has shown no aggression at any time, he just backs away and hides in the corner when he can’t cope. I have got to the stage where I can go into the kennel and tickle him and fuss him. However, he does not respond much to this, he just sits there and lets me carry on, although I can see that he is beginning to like it. I suspect that he has never had this kind of love and attention, so does not know what it is all about. As I said he has shown no aggression and I have spent a fair bit of time with him, moving him from kennel to kennel so that we can clean up after him. He has been fine with the other dogs in the pound over the last week.
