Kita – 5 year old female Akita

This is Kita, an adorable 5 year old Akita girl looking for a new home due to a change in her owner’s circumstances. An incredibly vocal girl, Kita likes to let you know what she is feeling with plenty of “whoo whoos” and singing! Initially wary, Kita soon warms to visitors and was happy to get strokes and cuddles – within minutes Kita was trying to practically sit on our assessors to get closer for more petting. Affectionate and polite, Kita was gentle taking treats and also responds well to commands sitting nicely and giving her paw. Kita is reportedly good on the lead, at present she is walked by her owners using a harness and only pulls when she sees dogs or cats. Kita’s owner reports that she seems to be very keen on cats, trying to initiate play with them when she sees them in the street!

Kita has not had a great deal of interaction with other dogs, she seems to prefer other Akitas and pending successful introductions, may be able to live with another dog. We feel that Kita would be best placed with children aged over ten years and she could potentially live with a cat! An affectionate, cuddly and pretty girl – could she be the perfect match for you?
