Kitkat – 18 month old female Greyhound
Kitkat is an 18 month old greyhound girl who was bred for the flapping track, but luckily never raced. She has a lovely, soft brindle coat and is in quite good condition.

Kitkat is a lively, friendly girl who likes to be out and about, seeing the world. She has led a rather restricted life so far and is now bursting to see the world and experience all it has to offer. She can be a little bit unsure in new situations, but she soon relaxes and takes comfort from having people or dogs she knows around her.
Lucky Kitkat is now in a foster home in Norfolk , UK where she is learning all about the home life for the very first time. She is being taught the do’s and don’t’s of living in a house now and is coming along nicely, though is very curious! Her housetraining is also just about sorted.
Kitkat gets on very well with the dogs she is sharing her foster home with and is also living with a cat to see if she is cat trainable. Her progress will be updated shortly.
Like most greyhounds, Kitkat will not need a huge amount of exercise. Once she settles in her new home, she will be content with two 20min walks a day and perhaps a chance to stretch her legs offlead in a secure area once or twice a week. She would do even better if she had another youngish dog to play and romp with during the day.

In general greyhounds are calm, mannerly dogs that are well used to being handled. They can fit very well in to a wide range of different lifestyles and usually adjust to the home life very quickly. Their soft, easy going nature often makes them ideal to live in a family with children, while their love of lazing around and low exercise requirements can make them perfect for the elderly. Greyhounds also don’t shed as much as other more popular dog breeds and this can make them suitable to live with allergy sufferers.
Kitkat is now in a foster home in Norfolk , UK . She is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, de-flea’d and wormed and a homecheck will be required as part of the adoption procedure.

*Update August 2010*
Kitkat is now settled in her foster home and is officially suitable to live in a home with cats. She is sharing her current foster home with a cat, a vizla and a lurcher without any problems, and is a lovely houseguest.
Kitkat is clean in the home, and is lively and playful with her new doggie friends. We feel she would do very well in a home with another dog (or several!) as she really does enjoy their company.
