Lacey – 14 month old female Spanish Hound

Lacey is a beautiful young Spanish Sabueso scent hound aged around 14 months old. She has spent 7 months of her young life in a cage so she is still discovering the joys of freedom and is very much a happy puppy. The Sabueso hound is known to be very elegant, low maintenance, silent and clever, and Lacey is just that. As well as being pretty as a picture she is not destructive, she does not howl or bay, she is not possessive of toys or food and she is not an escape artist. We have considerable experience of hounds and this girl is a doddle. Nevertheless, we are still looking for a hound savvy home for Lacey because, although she is undoubtedly a princess among hounds, she is typical in that she may never be good at off lead recall. Anybody with experience of Hounds will accept that this is often a given with a hound of any type. But anybody with experience of hounds will also recognize that Lacey is one very straightforward girl. Like many rescues, she will benefit from some training but Lacey is a very amenable and smart girl who should quickly master the basics.

Lacey is very sociable like most hounds, she adores her home comforts and is a cuddle monster. She loves a nice comfy bed (or chair), a nice lap and lots of company. She gets along very well with all other dogs, she is fine with cats in the house and she has met horses, cattle, sheep, poultry and goats on the lead. She is a very affectionate and gentle girl and we would be confident to place her into a home with children. Lacey is house and crate trained and can be left for a few hours without any problems. She is an absolutely lovely young dog with no issues, who will benefit from being with people who can give her the love, attention and company that she has missed out on in her early life. No known health issues. Lacey is microchipped, neutered, vaccinated, up to date with flea and worm treatments and has a full passport.

Angel’s Kiss only uses kennels for immediate rescue and emergencies, all dogs advertised for adoption have been fostered, so they can become familiar with the normal sights and sounds in a family and a household. It is with fosterers that these troubled souls learn what it is like to live in a home, sleep on a bed, eat a decent meal and know what it is to be loved. Fostering is the bridge from the old life to the new. Lacey is in a foster home in Yorkshire. Angel’s Kiss homes dogs throughout the UK but potential adopters must be willing to travel to meet Lacey at her foster home.

If you are interested in adopting Lacey please get in touch with us through this website and tell us about your experience of hounds. The adoption fee is £300 and we always require a homecheck. This is done through a national network of rescue volunteers and usually does not take more than a few days to arrange.
