Lacey is a 4 years old, Female, Beagle Cross. Lacey is a beautiful Beagle cross who was rescued the streets of Cyprus by D.O.G Rescue Cyprus and spent a while in Cyprus kennels before arriving in her foster home in Barrow Upon Humber. Lacey is very biddable. She is calm in the house and very inquisitive! She gets on well with people, has met children of 5 and 7 and was not fazed by them running around shrieking, taking food from her or stroking her. Lacey is a lovely little girl who only really wants to please. You can see her wilt if you have to say NO to her. She doesn’t appear to have a nasty bone in her body. She is excellent with other dogs and is sharing her foster home with another dog, 2 cats and her foster garden with free range chickens displaying no great interest in the cats or the chickens. She is happily sleeping in her crate with the door left open during the day so that she can come and go as she pleases and is also eating in the crate as she is not a greedy dog and the resident dog would steal her food before she eats it all! She sleeps well at night but has a tendency to snore. She has had a nasal injury in the past that can cause her to snuffle and snore, however it has no other impact on her life and wellbeing. She can run and run and simply wants to live life to the full.
Whilst she is not a climber – she appears to look for a downward exit to the garden, so a garden with floor level fencing will be a must. She needs a garden to be big enough so that she can run around safely to let off steam. She loves to run. Sharing her home with another possibly older dog who likes to play would be a help her settle and another dog would also help to show her the ropes. However this is not essential. She is just starting to work on her recall, so ongoing training is required to help her become the dog that you want her to be.
We would love for Lacey to find a home where there is someone around for a good bit of the day as since arriving in the UK she has not been left alone for long. She would prefer a calm, quiet, reasonably active home where her folks will have time to help her learn what is expected of her. She has been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. The minimum adoption donation for Lacey is £275.
