Lady is a 5 year old female German Shepherd cross Collie. Lady is a friendly, loving girl from Cyprus. She was adopted by a family with young children when she first arrived. However through no fault of her own, following a marital separation, she has found her whole world turned upside down. Currently she is in kennels and has been there for a few months now. She was re-adopted recently but the adoption failed and she was sadly returned to the kennels. This was because she was walked in a busy public park with dogs racing around off lead. She struggled to cope and reacted to the other dogs.
Lady is a very loving dog who loves people and is great around kids. She is very affectionate and likes to be with you. She is calm most of the time but can have a little ‘mad five minute’ playful session! She is very good on the lead and loves to walk. She has no issues with people being close by when she is eating and take treats nicely. Lady can be vocal when she first sees another dog but on correct and controlled introductions she shows no outwards aggression. She is happier with human company but is happy to walk with another dog so long as they are calm and friendly.
She doesn’t want to play with other dogs and stiffens up slightly when the other dog gets too bouncy. When she trusts her human she is more relaxed around other dogs. She does react to dogs passing her kennel and so might do if dogs pass her house or garden. Since she was returned she has been receiving training and is much better. She now walks with other dogs calmly but still would not cope with a busy park.
Lady needs a family home where she can go on country walks and that would be her perfect, dream home. It is not known how she would be around cats and other small furries, but she adores people and children and loves to be around them. She is happy to go into a crate and sleeps well through the night. She shows no signs of separation anxiety. Lady would be best suited as an only dog as she isn’t fussed with interacting with other dogs and likes to be with her human(s). She likes to walk and sniff around but is also happy to chill out.
There must be somebody who can give this lovely dog a home as an only dog. Her world fell apart when her family split up and she is desperate to have her own family to adore again. She has been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. She is located in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. Adoption is subject to home check.
