Layla – 18-24 month old female Collie cross German Shepherd Dog

Layla is a female collie/German Shepherd mixed breed dog of about 18 months to 2 years old. She arrived at the rescue shelter in late September 2011 with appalling injuries to her neck where she had been chained as a puppy, and the chain tightened as she grew. Thankfully she was found by a very kind gentleman who cleaned her wounds as best he could before finding her a space in a shelter that he knew would take the best care of her. Layla’s injuries have now all healed, and despite her ordeal she bears no grudge against the human race! She is healthy and fully vaccinated, and has been neutered and microchipped.

Layla is a beautiful dog, both inside and out. She loves attention and will jump for joy when she sees the volunteers at the shelter. Because of the large number of resident dogs and relatively few volunteers, Layla is lucky if she is walked once a week. She is friendly with adults, children and other dogs. We think Layla will not be suitable to live with cats.

Layla is safe at the shelter, but now needs someone to show her how much better life can be in the care of a loving owner. Layla is ready to pack her suitcase and travel to England in the pursuit of a family who will love her as much as she will love them.

If you have a Layla-shaped hole in your life, call or e-mail us now. We are expecting this little lady to be popular, and we will be choosing only the most deserving home for this special dog. You can contact us at friendsofanimals-uk@live.co.uk or by phone on 07932 948064.
