Leo – 1 year old male Cross-Breed

Leo is a 1 year old cross-breed boy who found himself in kennels after a family break up. He is a very friendly boy, great with other dogs and cats and loves people and children. He is clean in the house and can be left for short periods in his crate. Leo would love a home to call his own!

He has been de-flead, wormed, is fully vaccinated and has recently been neutered. Leo is currently living with a lovely foster family in Sheffield.  His fosterer says: “Leo came to stay with me yesterday and is an absolute star! He is fantastic with my own 5 dogs and has shown no aggression whatsoever despite my little Jack Russell getting his teeth out He has shown little interest in my cat, just walking past him when he’s seen him.

He is clean in the house, knows “sit” and “give paw”, isn’t food agressive and responds well to a firm “no” if he gets something wrong. He absolutely adores my two girls (aged 10 and 12) and he likes a bit of rough and tumble whilst knowing the boundaries.

He is a very gentle and loving boy and very keen to please. We had some left over steak at tea time and he sat and waited his turn for some scraps and took them very gently from my hand. He is strong on the lead when out with my pack but I think its because he would like to be off-lead and join in with the fun.

I will work on his recall with a training line and then try him off-lead which I hope will stop him pulling like a train when he is on lead. When he is out on a walk on his own with my partner he walks to heel with only an occasional pull. He showed no interest at all in other passing dogs when out in the park this morning.”
