Lety was rescued from a Public Pound in Spain, and has recently come to a UK foster home. She is a pure breed Podenco, who was most likely used as a hunting dog and for breeding. Podenco’s live very hard lives always faithful to their owners, but unfortunately their owners who use them for hunting do not feel the same.
Lety is blind in one eye, and was probably taken to the pound because of her lost of sight. Podenco’s are very gentle souls, and they find it very hard to cope living in a pound. She was lucky to have been rescued as the shelters in Spain are often high kill shelters. Since being rescued it was confirmed that she is filaria positive, so needs treatment for the next 18-24 months then retesting, a by product of neglect.
