Liana – 7-8 year old female Pointer

Liana is a female pointer. We are not sure of her age as her upper teeth have been broken off or ground down – we estimate she is 7 or 8. She came into the rescue shelter in Athens in March 2008 when she was found straying. She was probably dumped by her hunter owner as she was no longer useful to him. Liana is fully vaccinated, and has been neutered and microchipped.

Liana is a lovely, happy girl! She has become a firm favourite of the volunteers at the shelter in Athens where she is being looked after while we find her perfect home. She has little or no chance of finding a home in Greece because she is a working breed, so she’s getting ready to travel to the UK in May and we will be helping her to choose a family that will treat her as the devoted companion that she is yearning to be!!

One of the volunteers at the shelter in Athens says this: “Liana is still full of energy and lust for life. She loves long walks and likes to explore everything. She is very friendly with all dogs and she loves people; she is quiet, obedient and clean.” Another says: “She is strong but she can walk perfectly if you can give some orders with the leash. I was out with her and I did not let her run without any reason, I had just to pull the leash to guide her the way she can go. We had a very calm walk together for the 10 minutes!! I believe that if we give her some extra time she will be perfect. She responds to orders and she really likes people. She really deserves an opportunity!!”

If you would like to give sweet Liana that opportunity, please get in touch. Her perfect home is one with or without another dog, with or without children – all she really needs is someone to give her regular food, lots of long walks and above all the love that she is desperate to give back.

As Liana has been at the shelter for almost 4 years it may take her a little while to become accustomed to life in England. Although there is a foster home in the South East waiting for her, it would be so much better for her to go straight into a loving family home.
