Lily – 12 month old female Jack Russell Terrier

Lily is a 12 month old Jack Russel Terrier girly. She originally came to our attention following a report to our national complaint line about her being kept in a car. It was true; her owners were not permitted to keep her in the house so they ‘kennelled her’ outside in the car. Obviously this was not a long term care plan so they agreed to sign her over to us.

We originally rehomed Lily with another male terrier but after a few weeks she was returned. Lily had proven to be quite an insecure little lady and had felt the need to dominate the male dog, seemingly jealous of him getting any attention at all. Lily also had toilet training issues of the watery kind and so this also proved difficult for her new adopter.

When Lily was returned she was placed into foster care and introduced to cage training, only being left for short periods of times and gradually building on it from there. In no time she soon blossomed into a beautifully behaved, gentle little girl. Lily is now fully trained with the crate and can go for a few hours at a time, and overnight, in her crate without any separation anxiety issues or toilet accidents.

Lily truly is a ‘reconditioned model’ and raring to find a new forever home. She is a bundle of energy who darts around all day but loves curling up for cuddles at night. She is great with children (her foster home has children from 11 to 18) and really needs lots of human interaction as she thrives on it.

When out walking she is always happy to meet and play with other dogs and she is in foster care with 2 placid female dogs. However, we think she would benefit from being in a house without other dogs or cats so she doesn’t feel the need to compete for attention. So if you can offer her a home that will keep up with teh crate training, does not have other cats or dogs and she will not be left for more than a few hours at a time then please get in touch.
