Lily has been undergoing treatment with the back-up of Gap since September last year. She was taken to one of our volunteers’ door after being found in a horrendous state. Thankfully Raiye took her in and contacted ourselves. She was thin and had a broken toe which is all healed now and should not cause her problems.Lily has interacted with a number of dogs in her foster home and been good with them including puppies and fine with all dogs she has met on lead. Off lead she is a little dominant and likes to chase other dogs down when they run so her recall and socialisation needs some work. She is now just about starting to play with other dogs. Likewise out on walks when excited she will pull to begin with but then settles down. Training classes would be beneficial.
In the house Lily is perfect. Quiet, non chewer, happy to be left, happy to be crated if needs be. Totally clean in the house. She will be fine to be rehomed alongside other dogs with careful introductions, preferably an older calmer male or as an only dog with someone around most of the time to spend time with her. Lily has been introduced in the foster home to the foster carer’s Grandson who is only 1 year old. She is fine with him but caution needs to be taken as she can be a little snatchy and snappy taking treats if other dogs are around and about. She would be better to be rehomed with dog savvy children 6 upwards who understand that when she is resting she needs her space.
Lily is NOT cat friendly!
Lily is a medium sized lurcher girl and stands at around 26 inches to the shoulder weighing 30kgs. She has a beautiful nature with people and loves sitting on your lap for a cuddle. It’s obvious though that Lily has known a cruel hand and if you raise a hand too quickly she will still hit the floor and cower. She is also scared and hides at the sound of raised voices. She however travels brilliantly and is not scared of traffic noise.
Lily is currently in foster in Lancashire. She can be rehomed throughout the UK subject to a successful home visit and any new family willing to travel to meet her with any current dogs. Lily is vaccinated, treated for parasites, microchipped and neutered. In the first instance if you are interested in offering Lily a home please complete the pre adoption questionnaire below….
