Lizzie is a four to five year old Collie. Lizzie is fostered in foster Dersingham (FR127). She was rescued from the streets of Romania as a puppy and taken into a yard at a family house. A situation evolved where the family moved out of the house but the dogs continued to live there with someone visiting them daily to feed them. Unfortunately the neighbours were unhappy about the dogs living there and would torment and abuse them. Eventually the dogs were rescued and taken to a shelter where they were trained to walk on leads. Lizzie is now in the UK and looking for a home.
Lizzie is a gentle and submissive dog who needs a little time to learn to trust people. She wags her tail gently when we speak to her, and comes close for a stroke, however if you move your hand too quickly she will flinch. If she’s in her bed, she will gently lift up her leg when I come close, so that I can stroke her tummy.
At the moment, she is largely keeping herself to herself, but is getting braver every day and is really enjoying her walks. She’s clean in the house, is submissive with the other dogs, and ignores the cats and hens. She would like a calm and gentle house so that she can build up her confidence.
