Lola is a Brittany Spaniel and is almost 10 years old. She was left at the shelter by her owner. Unlike most of the dogs we home, she is used to living indoors with access to a garden. She was being fostered by one of the volunteers but unfortunately, she has had to go back into the shelter and isn’t coping too well with all the noise and chaos.
Lola has retinal atrophy which means she is totally blind. However, it does not stop her living a full life. Once she knows her way around a new place, she manages brilliantly. Even if you hide, she finds you using her nose and doesn’t knock into anything!
She is a lovely, affectionate dog, great with male and female dogs as well as cats. She also loves children!
She is very quiet around the house and likes to nap but she loves to welcome people when they come home and puts her paws on your before sitting and waiting for a fuss or a treat.
She weighs 15kg at the minute and is a little on the chubby side so could do with losing some weight.
She is very obedient, does not pull on her lead but since she can’t see, she does follow her nose and tends to zig zag. Once she knows the area, she is much better.
