Lovely Lottie is an 8 year old Jack Russell Terrier girl who is in an Oldies Club foster home in Newport, South Wales awaiting an offer a permanent home. Lottie needs a home with someone around most of the time as she doesn’t like to be left and her foster carer’s neighbour has said that Lottie howls when alone. Separation anxiety sometimes settles down over time, but Lottie will need a home where there is someone around most of the time and where she can gradually get used to being left for short periods, a little at a time.
Lottie has never lived with other dogs, and before living with her previous owner she was used for breeding. She barks at dogs she meets outside but her foster carer isn’t sure yet if this is just excitement. Although Lottie is good with cats and used to live with them, she has an allergy, thought to be related to cats and their fleas, which has only just been brought under control. This allergy causes Lottie’s skin to flair up, so her foster carer thinks she would be better in a cat-free home. We were told that Lottie was used to being around children in her previous home and that she likes children. Lottie is fine in the car for 15-20 minute journeys but she has been sick on longer trips.
Lottie’s ideal home: A retired household, or any quiet home where Lottie will have almost constant company. Health notes: Lottie is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and has been wormed and flea treated. Lottie has an allergy (thought to be due to cats/fleas) which gives her a red rash on her belly and irritates her. Her skin was sore when she came into rescue but it is now nicely under control.
