Lou – 3-4 year old female English Cocker Spaniel

Lou is a 3-4 year old female English Cocker Spaniel. Lou Lou came into foster back in October.
She was circling badly, was very weak on her left side and bumped in to things a lot. We took her off to dick whites in Newmarket where she had the complete works and they found that she had had a stroke prior to coming into foster. She has come on leaps and bounds since then, the weakness on her left side has gone, she does still occasionally bump into things but not as often and it’s normal your legs whilst out walking because she is going 100 miles a hour everywhere. She is the sweetest girl and absolutely loves human company and I’m sure if she could she would be strapped to my back, she is amazing with children but I would say not small ones just because she would knock them over. She is excellent off lead.

Lou Lou has her issues, she doesn’t settle easily even after very long walks and lots of stimulation. She finds it very hard to switch off, she will sleep if she is snuggled up on the sofa with you but at night if she is allowed to have the freedom she will sleep on and off for 5 minutes at a time and spend the rest of the night bringing you presents in bed ( my son woke up one more with a welly, his school bag, two coats and three dogs toys on his pillow.) she hates to be crated, I think she was crated a lot in her past life so hates to be shut away.

I feel like she needs a home with no other dogs so that all the human attention is on her and she doesnt have to share the affection. She still needs ongoing training. She will make someone very happy as she has us but we feel we just aren’t the right home for her. I feel like maybe someone that has a job where they could take her along? Like horsey people etc. Due to Lou Lou’s previous medical issues, which have not been seen since we have had her in foster we will offer long term foster or full adoption with us covering any future costs relating to her past issue. This is one very very special girl.

Lou Lou is neutered chipped vaccinated wormed and flead and adoption is subject to meet and greet homecheck and adoption fee. Applications via forms section of website please.
