Luna is a Beagle mix who is in Maidstone. She was born in September 2014. Se is now with Auntie Vicky in Kent. She was previously in a private shelter in Romania and has had a difficult life so far. Poor Luna was pregnant with puppies and very close to when the babies were due when an unkind person decided it would be best to abort the puppies. Luna, obviously is traumatised by this experience.
But luckily for Luna, she was rescued by Carmen in Romania and now Vicky is helping heal the horrible experience of the past. Luna is lead trained and walks perfectly by Vicky’s side. She walks past lots of other people and dogs on the lead and although she doesn’t want to play with them and would rather stand with her human, is getting used to being around more people and dogs.
She is currently living with 4 other dogs peacefully. She would be fine with other calm dogs but would also be fine as an only dog if her owner was willing to spend lots of time with her, as if you let her, she will take herself off and sleep in her bed in the corner.
Luna has come such a long way from the extremely traumatised dog she was when she arrived in August. She couldn’t be touched, had never been walked and was very skinny. She can now be stroked all over by the people she trusts, loves trotting along on her twice daily walks and loves her food! She gets so excited at mealtimes and wags her tail and wiggles her bottom!
She needs an understanding and experienced dog owner to continue her trust building and socialisation but it will be worthwhile and rewarding. She is a gorgeous dog who can and will trust humans, as she’s already made such big strides. She deserves the best home after the abuse she’s suffered. Someone who is understanding of the life she’s had, who can take her forward to lead a happy and fulfilled life.
Luna is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, wormed and deflead and has a passport.
