Luna is a 8 months old, female, Labrador Cross (Pointer). Luna is a rescue from Cyprus, who has flown to a foster home in Bristol, to help her find her forever home. Here is a little about her: Luna is an energetic, playful puppy who is still growing each day! Just like all puppies her age, she’s still full of fun and at times boisterous. She is absolutely terrific with all dogs, and adores the resident dog in her foster home. We think she would be best suited to a home with larger breeds as her playfulness is sometimes too rough for the resident small dog.
Luna is also okay with cats. She walks well on a halti lead but does tend to get excited when seeing other dogs, and just wants to play. She’s also beginning to learn recall on her long line and this is going well. She is still a puppy so will need some ongoing training to help her become the adult dog you want her to be. She loves her tennis balls and teddies and often plays fetch in the garden, most of the time bringing the ball back without you even asking.
If she sees an opportunity Luna does like to snatch food from both humans and dogs. She will need ongoing training or separation to stop this. However she is not aggressive at all, and you can easily remove things from her mouth. She does get on well with calm kids, but her playful nature means she likes to jump so a home with older or no children would be preferred.
Luna is still quite nervous of new people and noises, and will tend to hide from them until she is comfortable. But lots of treats and cuddles help and seem to work well. Luna can be left alone for short periods and she mostly sleeps. However like any puppy when she is bored she may be destructive, so needs someone around a lot or lots of toys to keep her occupied. Luna particularly likes pillows!
Luna is still a little underweight, and will need to be fed a high calorie diet until she reaches a stable weight, but other than this there are no health concerns at all. She is the most beautiful and intelligent of dogs and will make an amazing friend or even helper to anyone. We think she would do well in an active home where she can have regular, long walks. She has great potential and with lots of training and treats she will learn extremely quickly. She has improved so much, in the short time she has been in the UK and continues to improve by the day. She has huge paws so is going to be a big girl. She is completely adorable and we have no doubt she will make her forever home extremely happy.
