Mac is a 10 year old male English Cocker Spaniel. He is a very loving and affectionate boy. He likes nothing more than to cuddle up with you on the sofa. Loves a tummy tickle and stroking of his ears. Mac is a big foodie! He always leaves a clean bowl and followers you around hoping for his next treat. He can get a bit grumpy if he doesn’t have his own space to eat and relax so because of this I feel he would like to be the only dog in his new home. Mac sleeps in his crate at bedtime and seems more than comfortable with this. He never makes a sound and goes straight to sleep. He loves his daily walks and enjoys exploring new surroundings.
Please do NOT be fooled by his age, Mac as bags of energy so his daily walk is essential. He is currently being walked on a extendable lead as his recall is a bit hit and miss but I feel this could be worked on. He generally as a good reaction approaching new dogs while on his but can get a little grumpy around playful boisterous dogs. Mac does enjoy a squeaky toy but doesn’t like to give it you back. While continually walking on walks he does drop the ball for you to throw sometimes. I use treats to distract him while I pick up his toy in the home. I would say that play will need to be done with only an adult that Mac trusts.
Mac as a few health issues that are currently being assessed and the cost of which will be covered by the rescue so pls dont let that put you off but is still very much fit and active. I do feel that although Mac gets on brilliantly with all people he would be best suited in a home with older teenage children. He would not like the attentions of young children and may possibly get grumpy if heavily handled. Overall I feel Mac would make a fantastic companion for the right person/family. He deserves to live out the rest of his days as a only dog with lots of attention, affection, in a warm, loving, calm and peaceful setting. Mac is in foster in Nottingham and he is neutered, chipped, vaccinated, wormed and flead.
Adoption subject to meet and greet, homecheck and adoption donation of £150. Applications via the forms section of website please.
