Madeline – 2 year old female Yorkshire Terrier

Madeline is a 2 year old female Yorkshire Terrier. Due to her history we would recommend an adult only home. She is extremely friendly when she bonds with a other dog, but sometimes can bark when she passes a strange one. She has not yet tested with cats. Madeline is a very small Yorkshire Terrier, she’s very sweet but can be nervous initially, she is generally fearful when meeting new people. She was found abandoned at the bottom of a block of flats and was going to be put to sleep because she was biting people out of fear. Since arriving with us over 4 weeks ago she is becoming more and more confident with us, She will need a kind and gentle home who can give her space, time and understanding. In the last 2 weeks, she has begun to be much happier about being handled but is still uncomfortable with basic handling like having her harness put on and off. But she no longer attempts to bite people she is comfortable with. Due to her nervous nature she would best suit a quieter home where she can feel safe. She loves her food and at the kennels is fed a raw diet of natural instinct. She has been healthy during her stay at the kennels. Located at Glendee Rescue, Hertfordshire.

Madeline is quite shy initially and can snap if she feels uncomfortable. She will need patience and time in a new home to settle, and an understanding family who appreciate it’s a big scary world for a little dog! This is our current assessment, the assessments are on-going as always, and although we temperament test our dogs in many situations, we can not know how they be when they arrive in your home, support is given as always be given by the trainer you are matched to.
