Maggie is a medium sized Cross-breed dog. She is about 6 years old. Maggie was living on the streets of Romania when she was captured by the dog catchers and taken to a horrible public shelter. She was later rescued from this hellish place by one of our Romanian friends and waited patiently for her chance to come to the UK to find a home. On arrival Maggie was a shy girl who spent the first twenty four hours curled up in a tight ball in the cornerof the room just watching us. It was not long before she succumbed and became friends with us, that first subtle wag of her tail was the first of many in the days to come.
Just a couple of weeks on and Maggie is now enjoying domestic bliss and is quite relaxed. She likes her walks and is learning to get in and out of the car as she starts to associate this with lovely trips to the woods. At present Maggie will walk very closely to the people she knows and is a little worried when people walk past. Its really very early days in her adjustment to what we class as normal and she is doing brilliantly, this can only improve in time as her confidence grows.
Maggie is a fun loving dog and has started to play with my dogs. Her relationships with the cats is amusing as she seems to want to mother them and watches over them and follows them around. This is very sweet but might prove a little stressful for a non dog-wise cat who might not understand her intentions.
Maggie loves her food and does a cute little jump and dance when its teatime. Maggie has fitted in well to living with other dogs and children but has not been assessed with children under 10 and as she has a timid disposition very young children might prove too much for her.
