Maisy – 3 year old female Border Terrier Cross

Hello, I’m Maisy the Border Terrier Cross and I’m 3 year old female and my life was turned upside down when my owners decided they could no longer keep me. I had been with them since being a puppy and they treated me like their beloved baby. So when they suddenly had their own baby, I could not cope and got jealous and that is when they brought me into The Mayhew. I felt so rejected and became very depressed. Although I have got over that now, I am still a lost little girl. I am very friendly with people I know and love a cuddle but I can get anxious with some folk and be a little unpredictable. I am housetrained and very clean in my cabin. I do pay attention when told to do something and will even endearingly tilt my head towards you to show that I am listening. I sit and go to my bed when asked and am always pleased to hear the word ‘walkies!’ I have not been around many dogs and however hard I try, I am afraid I just cannot get on with them. I enjoy an hour of off lead exercise daily, where I have to wear a muzzle and a longline to prevent me getting into squabbles with other dogs. I am very good in the car and travel well.

I am looking for a new experienced forever home without dogs, cats or children, and with extra special people who won’t spoil me and will set me boundaries, but will give me all the love I need as I am very affectionate once you get to know me. I am toilet trained and can be left alone for a few hours without any problems. I would make a good companion for a mature or retired couple who have the patience to allow me to settle down in my own time and accept me for what I am. I hope by being honest I have not put you off because I am a very loving girl and will make a very loyal companion. So, if you are willing to put in the time and patience I need, I won’t ask for very much in return. Just a whole lot of love and a safe place to call home where I can spend the rest of my life.
