Mannie – 3 year old male Flatcoated Retriever cross Labrador

Hello, my name is Mannie
I’m a three year old, male Flatcoated Retriever and Labrador crossbreed. I arrived at The Mayhew because my owner decided to take on a full time job which meant I was being left all alone for nine hours a day. I’m a very gentle soul, calm, well behaved and responsive to commands. I’m toilet trained, walk well on my lead and I’m well behaved off lead. My carers here say I have the manners of a gentleman. I arrived at The Mayhew suffering from demodectic mange which has now been treated by having medicated baths. It won’t be long before my skin is completely better. I am very sociable and I get along very well with everyone I meet, including children of all ages. I also get on very well with other dogs and I like cats too, although if a cat runs away from me I can’t resist chasing them.

Due to my love of people and company I don’t cope very well being left on my own, so I’d like to find a home with someone who is around for most of the day. A family who will give me lots of love and attention, and will take me out for a minimum of an hour of off lead exercise daily in a park or open space. I love to dance with people, so if you could do this activity with me every so often I’d appreciate it too. I also love to play fetch. I would happily live with young children, other dogs and/or a dog confident cat. I will make a loyal and loving addition to any family. My new guardians will be taking of a ten year commitment, which must not be taken lightly.
