Max – 12 year old male Collie cross Labrador

Max is a 12 year old male Collie cross Labrador. Despite Max being 12 years old, he is still very active and full of energy. He is a gorgeous, gentle and loving boy! Max is very friendly with everyone he meets, especially if they are willing to give him any attention. Max is great around older children. As he has never lived with children previously we are looking for a home where any children are teenagers. He would love this, especially if they went out in the garden to play football with him. Max may bark when visitors come to the house however he quickly settles. Max has lived with a cat, so we would consider re-homing Max to a home where there is a cat. Max unfortunately does not have many doggy pals. He does like smaller dogs, however he generally doesn’t like other dogs and is usually kept on a lead away from other dogs. He has a select few that he enjoys going for walks with, so he may be able to make new friends in his new home.

Max is fully housetrained and is not destructive when he is left in the house. The only thing he will be destructive with is when he is playing with a football. Max rarely travels in the car, so is quite nervous, however he is ok to go on short journeys which should help to build up his confidence. Max is happy to be left for short periods at a time, however as he is older ideally he would like company for the best part of the day. Max is good on lead and does not pull, and unfortunately is not good off lead. Max is looking for a lovely retirement home where he can enjoy lovely walks and have a warm spot on the sofa. Max would love access to his own garden as he loves to lie in the sun and play with his football. Max will make a lovely companion and has lots of love to give a family.
