Maya and Martin – 4 year old male and female German Shepherd Crosses

Maya and Martin are both four years old and both German Shepherd mixes. Martin is large size and Maya is small side of medium. Maya and Martin are fostered in Gt. Yarmouth (FR001). This devoted duo were rescued as puppies in Romania and adopted in Malta sadly four years later their adopter now has to move abroad and is unable to take them with him. So again they boarded a plane and are ready now here in the UK looking for a home together.

To be honest I’m not usually sentimental about keeping pairs of dogs together because in my experience they usually move on very quickly and aren’t as bothered by the separation as people think they will be. I have never seen two dogs as devoted as these two. I do think that Maya would get over a separation but Martin idolises her to the point of obsession. She is his security blanket and his life line and I couldn’t do it to him.

So, here we are looking for some very special people that will find room in their home and their heart for two of the most well travelled dogs ever! Maya is the friendlier of the two and is very sweet and affectionate once she gets to know you and of course he will follow her lead so it’s only her you need to win over. I am absolutely sure that if she walked through fire he would follow swiftly behind her. He is very comical. At some point in his life he has sustained a broken nose and this has left him with a facial deformity. That combined with a tendency to clumsiness, makes him clown like and you cannot help but smile.

Both dogs are wonderful characters but are very stressed in their foster home. They can live with one or two other dogs if necessary but the large number they are amongst currently make each dog worry for the others welfare. Out and about they are totally different dogs and much more relaxed and carefree. I am hoping a home comes along for them soon and would love to see them happy and appreciated again.
