Millie is a 13 year old Border Collie cross girl who is in an Oldies Club foster home in Northampton, waiting for someone to offer her a lovely new home. Millie is fine with other dogs, both in the home and out and about. She has visited her foster carers’ relatives who have a boisterous puppy and Millie coped well with the liveliness of the puppy. Millie hasn’t lived with cats before.
Millie is excellent with the children in her foster home (aged over 5). She has occasional times when she will play with them with a toy, and she takes food from them very gently. Millie could happily live with a family with kind children who would be considerate and gentle with her. Millie’s favourite pastimes is sleeping mainly. She does occasionally play but not often. She sleeps well and also likes to wander and roam about the house. She gets excited about her walks. She could adapt to most homes. Her foster home is busy at times and quiet at others and Millie takes it all in her stride.
Millie is vaccinated, microchipped and has been wormed and flea treated. Millie isn’t neutered as our vets have advised against it due to Millie’s age and health issues. Millie has a degenerating hip disorder for which she needs ongoing medication. This is currently 100mg Gabapentin, 3 times a day, to ease back pains from her hip problem, and Meloxydyl, once a day with food, to ease joint stiffness in her hips. She is also having a Glucosamine supplement twice a day to help her hips. Millie has had ear problems and so her ears need cleaning with Epiotic solution once every couple of days to avoid infection. Millie will need all of these things on a lifelong basis.
