Meet Milly! This gorgeous American Bulldog cross girl is 10 years old and she has spent 8 of those years in rescue.
She came into rescue having grown too big for her owners, her breed meaning she was a big, bouncy girl, and sadly she has spent 8 years in kennels, without a new home to call her own.
She is a huge hit with everyone at the kennels. The kennel manager, Lauren, tells us that having first met Milly when she was volunteering in 2010 she feels she has grown up with her and it breaks her heart every time she sees Milly in kennels because she is such a beautiful dog.
Although now 10, Milly is still very active and full of energy and this has put people off her in the past and has led to her being rehomed and returned in the past.
Lauren says, “We found Milly a wonderful home the first time around and unfortunately due to difficult family circumstances she got returned so we then homed her a second time which resulted in her being abandoned at a caravan park! Last year Milly found a new home and we thought that was it, she would stay forever and sadly that was not the case, again due to difficult family circumstances she was returned.”
Millie is very bouncy and can be very in your face and for somebody without large dog experience this would come across as quite scary but that is not Milly, she does not have a bad bone in her body!
Milly has a big heart and an even bigger belly to go with it! She is very toy and food orientated which is handy for when we take her to our training classes, she also walks wonderfully on her Kumfi Kalmer.
The home we are looking for must be able to tick off these requirements:
– Home most/all of the day
– Large dog experience
– Active home
– No other pets
– No young children in the home (she would knock a small child over)
Could that be you?
