Minstrel - 15 month old male Lurcher

Meet the beautiful Minstrel. Minstrel is a 15 month old Lurcher boy who recently made his way into our care from a stray pound situation. After some time in kennels he has now moved to a foster placement. He loves everyone and is currently existing with four other dogs 3 Pointies and 1 Collie - 2 of each sex.

In the main Minstrel walks well on leash but is still a little keen when he see’s birds and squirrels etc and is not cat friendly. He has been allowed to run off leash in a fully enclosed privately owned area and can be a little rough in his play, the other dogs to stand up to him and tell him off and he takes notice but we would not trust him with a smaller dog so some work needs to be done.

Minstel is clean in the house but has to be encouraged to go to the toilet in the garden as at the moment he is so young and nosey he often forgets to go when out on leash walks. Minstrel has been left for short periods of time in the company of other dogs and has settled well however whoever offers him a home has to realise that he is still a young dog getting used to home life so would be best suited to a family around alot of the time.

He would love the company of another playful hound to play with but can be a bit full on at the moment so it would need to be another young dog that understands Lurcher games.

At the moment Minstrel is a big puppy and has to be watched for puppyish mouthing type behaviour its quite obvious that up to this point he has never been allowed to behave like a puppy or enjoy a puppyhood.

Although he is good with people we feel he would be best suited to a home with older children as he is quite bouncy and clumsy still and may knock younger children over. Minstrel is good in the car settles down and travels well but sometimes needs a little help to get himself in. He is vaccinated, KC vaccinated, deflead, dewormed, micro-chipped and neutered.
