Hello, my name is Misty. I’m an eight year old female Cocker Spaniel. I arrived at The Mayhew due to my owner’s ill health. I’m a very friendly and sweet-natured girl. I have a tail that never stops wagging. I get along well with everyone I meet and I also get along very well with other dogs. I’m well-behaved, toilet-trained and I can be left home alone for a few of hours without any problems. I also travel well in the car and I know the usual commands which I respond well to.
When I first arrived I was suffering with a chronic ear infection, I’ve now had surgery on my ears which has fixed the problem. I also suffer with dry eye which means I have to have drops in my eyes regularly through out the day. I don’t mind having this done and I’m very well behaved when you administer them. I’m super affectionate. I love nothing more than cuddling up next to someone for attention and cuddles. I also enjoy going to the park and I love my food!
I’m now looking for a forever home with a person or family who have researched my breed type. I’d happily live with a first time dog owner. I can live with sensible children from six years of age and upwards providing they are used to being around dogs and I’d happily share my new home with another dog providing we’re the right match. I can also live with dog-confident cats. My new owners will be expected to provide me with a minimum of one hour of off-lead exercise every day. If you’re interested in adopting me you will need to be fully prepared for the hard work and long-term commitment involved in caring for a dog, which must not be taken lightly.
I hope to see you soon,
