Mollie and Minnie are 20 month Terrier mix girls possibly Miniature Pincher cross Dachshund being fostered in Gloucestershire. These two lovely sisters were born in Spain originally in hotel grounds, their original owners adopted them at about 8 weeks old to save them being abandoned.
The girls lived in Spain until approx 4 months ago when their owners returned to UK. Unfortunately due to health problems they were unable to look after the girls properly and that is why they have come into in our care.
They are now living in a family home with teenagers, cats and other dogs, it was all very scary for them to begin with as due to health reasons they had not been socialised in the last few months, with people they are fine and very friendly they have never suffered abused you can tell it was just with the other dogs they were not mixed enough, but they have not taken long to settle down and actually really love Toddy the younger Lab mix.
They have never lived with cats either but again have settled down very quickly with them. Out and about they are a delight they adore their walks and are fab off the lead you do not really have to call them they are always coming back to check on you, they love the water, exploring the woods and we have done a couple of long walks and they just thrive.
They are really good fun little dogs, they are very bonded and we feel at this stage unable to split them and we are going to try our best to find a home for them together. Personality wise, Minnie the smaller one she has more of a face like a Dachshund she is probably the more quieter one and the more steady one, Molly is the cuddle monster of the two but she gets a bit more jumpy than Minnie. On the lead, we are teaching them to walk properly and they can pull a bit at the beginning of a walk but soon settle down. They travel fine in the car, they are house trained, sleep in a crate in the kitchen together at night. They love snuggling up in the evening with you.
Where they need work is their socialization with other dogs because they have not been taken out for months and just been in the garden. So out on walks they are confident and love it but when they see other dogs they can run up barking they are not nasty at all quite the reverse they are wimps and scared, so we are working on this and obviously living with two other dogs and now another one as the foster home is looking after a friends dog for the week and they have settled very quickly, we are meeting new dogs and they are slowly getting there below is a video of new dogs they met the people were great and offered lots of blackmail treats and they are so young they will get there.
The right home for these two lovely sisters is an active home they need someone who can give them a good run twice a day, no full time workers, would put them with children 10 plus as they love everyone, cats would be fine and other dogs would be fine.
Both girls are fully vaccinated, chipped, spayed and have their own Pet Passports, we have also had them checked over by our vet and they have been given a clean bill of health.
