Monty

Monty came into Battersea Dogs & Cats Home as a stray in June 2006. He is a neutered male Jack Russell Terrier cross who is about 6 years years old.

He is an affectionate little man who takes a while to get to know you before he becomes interactive. His general character is that of a typical older male terrier in that he can be quite intolerant at times.

Monty was referred to the Behaviour Unit in order to investigate his frustration levels in kennels.

Monty is looking for wwners who have experience of terriers, particularly older intolerant dogs, his owners will need to understand that his behaviour is unlikely to change and his new home would be ideally suited to a semi-rural or rural environment as he does not like traffic & tries to avoid it.

Monty would suit an adult household without any children although experienced older teens maybe considered, he could live with a mature female but she would need to be very laid back and mature. Monty will need minimal leaving hours to begin with.

A well-balanced older dog that is very set in his ways, Monty will need owners that are aware of this and be prepared to accept him for what he is. Monty will make an interesting companion in the right environment.

Monty is at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home London. Please call the Behaviour Unit on 020 7627 7884 if you are interested in Monty or email us on behaviourrehoming@dogshome.org and quote ref 2006/03087
