Monty – 4 year old male Lurcher

Hi, I’m Monty, I’m a small black and white Lurcher boy aged approximately 4 years old, with a shiny coat and personality to match! Unfortunately I hurt my tail and there isn’t very much of it left now but I’m told it adds character so this is fine with me – it also makes me feel a lot better now it isn’t sore and it certainly doesn’t stop me sitting for a fuss and treats! I love being with people and can get quite miserable when I’m on my own so would like a family who aren’t going to leave me very often and who will continue my crate-training as I feel much more secure in there if I do have to be left for short periods.

My favourite activities are playing outside in the enclosure, I do the best play-bows, going for walks, rolling on my back for my tummy to be rubbed and eating pigs ears. I have lived with children before and they were great but I would not like to share my house with a cat, thank you very much! I am generally quite well behaved with other dogs, but wasn’t socialised very much when I was little and sometimes forget my manners if I’m out on the lead – it doesn’t take a lot to remind me though and I will try really hard to please you so just need a little bit of guidance.

I have been with Greyhound Rescue West of England for a little while now so I could learn to relax and enjoy life and I do like the people that play with me at the kennels, but it’s not the same as having a family of my own which is my favourite dream and makes me smile in my sleep. Could I perhaps come and live with you?
