Monty – 3 year old male Greyhound

Monty is a lovely 3 year old ex-racing Greyhound. He is quite a big boy, weighing in at 37 kilos, but is very much a gentle giant. He’s very well behaved, likes being around people, and has a lovely calm nature. He also travels brilliantly in the car, walks perfect on the lead and is spotlessly clean in his kennel.

Monty currently has a broken bone in his right hock, and was saved by a rescue volunteer from being euthanised. The leg is now in a splint, and it should heal fine in a few weeks with no further problems after that. His coat is also lacking in condition, but this will improve quickly with a good diet – and Monty loves his food!

Monty gets on well with other dogs his size. He was around small terriers in his previous home and did not show any interest in them. He definitely can not be homed with cats, though!

This gorgeous, easy-going fella really deserves a soft sofa to retire too now that his racing days are over. Monty is now in a foster home in Ipswich where he is getting used to living in a home environment for the first time while waiting to be adopted.

I have worked closely with the lovely Monty over the past few weeks, and can really vouch for him. He’s extremely well behaved on the lead, hasn’t put any pass on the numerous dogs he’s met and is just cheeky enough to be entertaining! He’s extremely food motivated and will stick his snuffly nose under your arm when youre prepairing his meals.

He has been exceptional during his weekly bandage changes, just laying flat out on the ground without a peep. He really is a lovely, happy-go-lucky fella who takes everything in his stride and will make a great, fun loving family pet. If i didnt have a full house already, he’d be mine in a flash!
