Moss
Moss has just celebrated his 5th birthday and a very spoiled one it was too for this very special Greyhound boy. Throughout 4 our of his 5 years he was shut up in a shed with no access to the outside for exercise and only taken out to train and race.
The racer who owned him before is also know for badly treating his dogs, so before he came to GAGAH he didn’t have the life he deserved. Due to his history Moss seems to be agoraphobic and does not like to spend a lot of time outdoors and is fantastic on the lead. Moss however has had the strength to overcome his past and is now a very happy laid-back chap.
He is a glorious black Greyhound, loves his home comforts, his tail never stops wagging and he is a grinner! He has a permanent toothy smile and is a very cuddly boy - he just loves his cuddles. A cuddle from Moss certainly makes you feel good.
He has totally settled into family life, and his foster family has 1 child, 6 other dogs, budgies and a parrot and he gets on beautifully with all.
Due to his complete isolation, Moss is a bit wary of ‘non Greyhound’ shaped dogs and will bark when meeting a strange dog, however once he has seen a dog a few times he is calm and relaxed and greets them like an old friend. If a dog barks at Moss he will turn away and go the other way. Dog socialisation classes will help him greatly.
Moss loves to play and chase balls, but does lose interest if they have stopped moving, therefore we would say that he is not catsafe and initial caution with dogs smaller than a Springer Spaniel would be needed at the start with his new family. Moss is neutered but not vaccinated.
