Murphy – 2 year old male Great Dane

Poor Murphy is a wonderful 2 year old Great Dane who has not had a nice life so far, he’s been kept outside and is painfully thin. It’s not easy to see that in his photos as he won’t keep still, but you can see his spine, his hip joints, his ribs are showing through nearly and the muscles on his back legs are non-existent. Why do that to this magnificent boy?

Despite all that he has a wonderful temperament, is very affectionate and a real clown. He is a firm favourite already with the kennel ladies. However, he is not enjoying kennels at all and really needs to be in a home and getting plenty of love and care very soon.

Obviously Murphy is going to need a pretty special home, and one that is big enough for him to have plenty of space of course! He is around 2 years old and seems fine with the other dogs. He could be rehomed with sturdy, decent sized children aged probably 10 or older. He will need someone around for at least half the day to help him settle into indoor living.

He will be vaccinated and microchipped and possibly neutered, if he is not already (I need to check this). This may be done if he weighs enough, if not, his neutering will be part of the adoption contract and will need to be done at a suitable later date and will be checked upon.

Murphy is under the care of the RSPCA Norfolk West and is kenneled just outside King’s Lynn in Norfolk. He can be re-homed outside of the county dependent upon a successful homecheck.

If you can offer Murphy lots of love and attention, a nice BIG cosy bed (like a sofa of his own!), good food, and the right level of exercise to help him build up his muscles slowly, please get in touch.

Please help us turn this boy’s life around for the better, and show him how good life can be with someone who truly loves him.
