Murphy – 4 year old male Terrier Cross

Meet Murphy, a 4 year old Terrier cross boy who is currently in kennels on the Staffordshire/Cheshire border while waiting for his new forever home. Murphy (the one with the white chest in the video) originally came in with Ruffles (his sister) back in November, they were abandoned in the house by the owner who went into hospital, neighbours approached us for help but the owner refused to sign them over for rehoming despite knowing he’d be in hospital long term; so they had been in private boarding kennels for several months that social services were paying for prior to coming into our branch care.

Both dogs found a home together a couple of weeks ago as they always got on great but sadly something changed and they started fighting so Murphy is now back with us to be rehomed.

Even though Murphy lived with Molly and a cat he needs to be the only pet, it is hit and miss with other dogs probably due to lack of socialisation. Murphy is not aggressive to all dogs and can quite happily walk with some of them!

His recall is really good if no distractions. This time we are looking for experienced dog owners. He is great with people but occasionally has snapped a little when he’s been unsure.

Anyone who comes to meet Murphy will not want to leave without him, he really is a typical terrier in a lot of ways, an endearing fellow, he’s simply gorgeous and will make a wonderful companion to the right owner.

He is fully vaccinated, microchipped, wormed, flead, health checked and neutered. Murphy is incredibly friendly and affectionate, a lovely natured dog with bags of character. Murphy is really good in the house, he is house trained and knows commands, he absolutely adores his toys and treats.
