Nico is a small to medium sized Cross-Breed. His passport says he is six years old but we feel he may be a couple of years younger. Nico is fostered in Bedfordshire (FR031). Nico was caught by dog catchers when he was very young and has spent years in the hellish Bacau Sarat public shelter. In April this year a close friend of safe rescue from Norway visited to the shelter and spotted Nico emaciated and close to death. Her organisation moved heaven and earth to save him and funded his travel to us.
When we picked him up he was extremely scared, he’s still wary of new people (especially men) sudden movement and noises but he’s improving every day. Despite his fears Nico has got a lovely nature and he’s very affectionate. He gets on well with the other dogs in his foster home and loves to play with them. Nico is house trained, he’s a little nervous on lead but improving and has been really good off lead with an excellent recall.
We feel that Nico is a little timid to live with very young children but has been fine around children of 7 years and upwards.
