Nicole – 18 month old female Boxer Cross

Hello, my name is Nicole, I am a 2 year old female Boxer Cross. I arrived at The Mayhew after I was found abandoned on the streets of London. I was so sick with a virus when I first arrived that all I wanted to do was lie down with my head in my kennel carer’s lap.

Now I am fully recovered I have turned out to be a real fun-loving and playful girl. Okay, I know I am not for the faint-hearted as I am full of beans and have not had much training but my eagerness to please plus a big interest in food means I learn quickly. Now I can even walk to heel with the right handling, although sometimes I get nervous and distracted by traffic and can forget all my good intentions but I am always willing to try again! I’m much more confident in the park where I love to run around and play with other dogs. I’m very good in the car and although I need further training to help build my confidence on street walks, ideally I’d like to find someone who will drive me to the park everyday. I am very good with other dogs and although it’s not essential I would love to find a home with another dog so we can have lots of fun playing together and help me burn off my excess enrergy. As for my doggy kisses – they are legendary around the Home!

I am looking for an experienced and understanding forever home with patient people who will give me time to show how loving and loyal I can be. My carers at The Mayhew don’t know what happened to me in my past but they can tell I’ve not had the best start in life. I can be shy around strangers but it doesn’t take me too long to make friends. Any children in my new ghome will need to be at least teenagers and upwards. I will need to go to training classes to help with my socialisation and learning manners. Although I love to snuggle into you for cuddles I am no couch potato. My active new guardians will have to be cool with my natural high spirits but once I settle in and get a minimum of one to two hours exercise daily, I will be a much calmer and attentive dog. So, if you are an experienced owner who has owned a high energy dog before, have a good sense of humour and love a challenge, then please give me a chance. I can promise life will never be dull and the love you give me I will return ten-fold. My new guardians will be taking on a thirteen year commitment, which must not be taken lightly.

Hope to see you soon, Nicole
