The very stunning Oban is 2 year old working English Springer Spaniel who has come into foster due to issues with biting, albeit through a lack of dog behaviour knowledge and wrong handling. Oban has previously lived in a kennel run throughout the day and into a crate on an evening to sleep. He is KC registered and has all his breeding line information. Oban is a 5 month old puppy in a 2 year old body. He is full of life, character and the vast energy that comes with a working spaniel. His basic training is fantastic, recall is good and is currently being made better.
Oban loves his long walks and one with water is better. Oban does still have some puppy traits which will need continuing work on with his new family to resolve these, He loves socks and blankets and takes great pleasure in ripping them to bits, however there is no issue in taking the items from him with or without a treat. He can still nip and chomp on wrists in play. Lead work is good but again as like a puppy he can shoot off in a different direction at times.
If left alone for too long he will become destructive so far not with furniture more boxes, paper blankets socks etc.. Oban will suit an experienced Spaniel owner, in an extremely active family whom have children of age 12+( due to his bouncy nature), spending most of the time outside. He would also love a family who have a another dog, as he loves to play with the resident Lab in foster or labs on walks. Oban would also benefit from a some days beating or similar to utilise his brain and energy levels. He will need to live in however as he has spent long enough confined to a crate and run.
Oban is in foster in North Yorkshire. He is neutered, vaccinated, chipped, wormed and flead. Adoption subject to meet and greet, homecheck and adoption fee of £200. Applications via forms section on website please
