Obie is a 6 year old working English Cocker Spaniel. He is a friendly lovable bundle who likes nothing better than cuddles with people he knows and trusts. It is all about trust for Obie. He loves walks and in typical spaniel fashion its nose down working the hedgerows. His recall is a bit patchy and very dependent on what his nose has found but if you go out of sight he soon comes back. He loves playing with toys and will happily chase a ball all day. He is a very intelligent dog. He has been the only dog in the house but has been fine with all dogs he has met out of the home. He is okay with the cats in the home but will chase the ones he sees out the home.
Ignore the chickens but no to small furries. He travels well in the car and is fine to be left for short periods. He has been gradually losing weight and he is not food orientated. Obie came into foster due to snapping and general grumpyness resulting in him spending too much time crated. We have not seen any of this in foster apart from when he first meets strangers. He is a very wary boy and you need to let him come to you and to earn your trust. He will not be suitable for a house with any children nor any who may visit. He needs a quiet home with few visitors. His other negative is that he really hates going to the vet and needs to be muzzled. His fosters have worked very hard on making the muzzle a positive experience and he now happily wears it when required.
To recap he is loving, energetic and intelligent and he needs an active home where he can try agility or flyball or beating. Obie is in foster in Cornwall and he is neutered, vaccinated, chipped, wormed and flead. Adoption is subject to meet and greet, homecheck and adoption donation of £200.
