Ollie is approximately 12 month old male Cross-Breed being fostered in Gloucestershire. Little Ollie, as we call him- he probably weighs about 4/5 kilos (as sometimes it’s difficult to tell from the pictures and videos as they can look bigger) we think he is probably mixed with chihuahua, maybe some sort of terrier he looks Border Terrier a bit.
This little sweetheart I met in Spain on my most recent trip he was under the care of the Charity we work with and I stayed their for a couple of days it was this little man that really took my heart he was such a sweetheart but so nervous, he was picked up with which we believe his dad living on the street of Spain where they both had tried to survive.
His Dad is very timid, and not ready for rehoming yet he would not come near me – we are not sure how long they were on the streets of Spain but it’s pretty obvious it was not great, and they suffered at the hands of man- probably shouted at, had things thrown at them and kicked as they both watched your feet to see if you are going to kick them.
Little Ollie was so shy and would close his eyes when stroked him scared I think he was going to get hit, but he really tried to overcome his fear as he was so desperate to be your friend he would come and sit on the sofa by me and all me to stroke him and give him a kiss. Videos of him in Spain and with his Dad etc below so you can see why we wanted to help him.
This little man has now made the long journey to UK and in his foster home with two dogs, an older couple with visiting grandchildren.
He is now in foster in Gloucestershire with a retired couple with their two dogs with visiting grandchildren.
A quiet home most of the time Ollie has thrived from the little scared dog that first arrived, he was so scared to begin with he would not even go for a walk he had to be carried, now he is the first one ready and gets really excited, he can still get nervous of new situations etc but he has made amazing progress.
He is now more or less house trained, very comfortable with the other dogs and gets them to play with him but they will not for long as they are both older. He sleeps at night on the bed in his foster carer’s bedroom with no problems.
Ollie is a very sweet boy he has a big heart and is trying his best to put his past behind him, but there are moments when he can get scared, we want a quiet home for him with people experienced with dealing nervous dogs, he would also benefit from being with other dogs.
Ollie is neutered, vaccinated, chipped and has his own Pet Passport – if you feel you are the right match for Ollie please email us.
