Ondy is French. He is a German Wire-Haired Pointer of approximately 3 years old. He was found dumped as a very young puppy along with his siblings. He spent his first 9 months or so in a state rescue, and then moved to another with a bit more company and a lot more freedom to do doggy stuff and mix with lots of others. He was there for about a year and then came to us. Ondy sadly was born with deformed foot and this is why he was never adopted in France. However he has no problems with this as he has pads – just not enough toes. Ondy gets on well with other dogs, and lives with many of all sizes here with us. He loves his people of all ages, and if anything can be too friendly. He has adapted well to home life and enjoys the comforts and company that brings. He is travels very well and is well behaved in the car, and has even enjoyed the luxury of a bunk in a dog friendly cabin on the ferry.
His house training has been good, though we believe he may have been involved in an incident with a sofa when left unsupervised. We have no absolute proof as there were several others and none were prepared to implicate either themselves or others. So we would recommend that he is left in a soft furnishing free area if left alone. He walks well on the lead once he gets going after pulling to start with. His recall still needs work before he can run free outside of enclosed areas. Ondy is not very keen on cats, rabbits etc. He is at the Sanctuary near Kidwelly. South Wales.
