Otis – 8 month old male English Bulldog

Otis is a 8 month old male English Bulldog. Otis came to us when he had just been born with a cleft pallet, he was hand reared and has thrived. For some reason Otis’s eyes did not develop and he has no sight at all. He knows no difference and copes well without his sight. His hearing is acute and he manages very well even in areas unknown to him. Otis would like new owners who are around for a good part of the day, it would be great if they had experience of blind dogs and their needs. Because Otis is a large lad we would like any children to be older teenagers, he can knock into things and a small child wouldn’t stand a chance against this lad.

He loves to be in the garden and is confident and happy within his home, it will take him a little while to settle into his new home whilst he learns his way around and maps things out. During this time he may have a few accidents this is to be expected but with time and patience he will learn his new environment and settle in.

Otis loves other dogs and will need at least one other resident dog who likes to play, he takes no notice of cats but they should be really dog savvy as without his sight he can give them a good sniff to check them out, some cats may find this a little too much. He eats well and his pallet is healed , sometimes he does get a runny nose, this is because of his surgeries and does not pose him a problem. His foster mum will discuss this at length with any suitable applicants.

Otis is a gorgeous lad who has been through a lot at a young age, he is now ready for the big wide world, his adventure begins. He has been neutered, vaccinated and micro chipped and is up to date with flea and worming treatment. He has also had cleft pallet reconstruction and a Rhinoplasty. He is currently being fostered in Guildford Surrey.
