Zeb – 11 year old male Labrador Retriever
Zeb is a gorgeous 11 year old black Labrador Retriever who came into Oldies Club care after major changes for his family. He is now in an Oldies Club foster home in Perth, Scotland, waiting for someone to offer him a permanent home.
Settled well: Zeb settled at his foster home immediately. He had no problems at all, and he slept though the first night in the same room as the resident cat, causing no disturbance whatsoever. He is a little quiet in the house and is happy to stay in his bed and not interact, but outside is a different matter. He loves his walks and is very happy and obedient off the lead.

Fine to be left: Zeb was left for long hours in his previous home. At his foster home he has been fine when left, but is happiest with people around most of the time, to show him love and attention.
Not suitable for full-time workers: Zeb looks for and enjoys two good walks a day, with garden play in between. Since being in his foster home, and experiencing more company and activity than he was used to, his joints are less stiff, his coat in better condition, and he shows signs of being a happier dog altogether.

Good with dogs, cats and children: Zeb totally ignores other dogs and could live quite happily with them. He also ignores cats, and has been living with the cat in his foster home without a problem. Zeb isn’t used to living with children, although there were visiting children at his previous home and he was fine with them. His foster carer doesn’t envisage there would be a problem with Zeb and children.
Well behaved on walks: Zeb walks well on the lead and is very happy off lead. He goes ahead, and stops regularly to make sure his walker is still there. He responds well to commands, coming when called. His ideal walk lasts about 40 minutes, twice a day.

Good in the car: Zeb is very good in the car and is used to lying on the back seat.
Zeb’s favourite pastimes: Zeb loves to walk, run and, most favourite of all, to catch balls.
Zeb’s dislikes: The only thing that Zeb has shown a dislike of at his foster home is the sound of a crackling fire.
Zeb’s perfect home: Zeb would love a home with a large garden, preferably in the countryside with lots of walking close by. He would like his owners to be around a lot of the time, but is OK with being left for 2-3 hours.

Health notes: Zeb is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, wormed and flea treated. Zeb has a lifelong thyroid condition which is controlled with Soloxine (2x 0.5mg daily). He has slight arthritis and is now on Loxicom.
Foster carer’s summary of Zeb: “Biddable; Obedient; Patient; Fun. Zeb is a lovely dog and will be a super companion. ”
Gladys – 2 year old female Jura Hound
Gladys is a 2 year old Jura Hound from Cyprus. She is in the UK and has settled very well but is too interested in the resident cat. She has previously been fine with cats. She is great with other dogs and house-trained. Gladys is not blind …and is simply missing her right eye. This will not impede her in any way. We would like to move her as soon as possible so please do get in touch at blinddogrescueuk@yahoo.com if you would like to meet/adopt lovely Gladys.
HISTORY: Found having been dumped outside of the Sanctuary with a severe trauma to her right eye. She has been at the sanctuary for about 1 year now. Gladys was taken straight to the vets and sadly her eye could not be saved and had to be removed. She stayed in a foster home with 5 dogs and countless cats during her recovery and had a great time there. However, once she was fully recovered Gladys had to return to the shelter and has remained there until moving into her most recent foster home prior to her flight to the UK.

LIKES: Gladys loves cuddles and to be fussed, she particularly likes to have her chin rubbed until your hand has gone numb. She also enjoys to lie on the sofa for a cuddle of an evening. She enjoys rawhide chews. Gladys enjoys walks but does pull on the lead to begin with out of excitement but calms down after a few minutes. She is also good off lead with people she knows and trusts and doesn’t stray far. Gladys loves to interact with other dogs and is good with cats. She is also good with children and enjoys to play with them. Gladys likes to chew things out of boredom. She has claimed a bathroom ‘loofah’ as her own and a few socks.
DISLIKES: Gladys is a bit unsure of busy populated places as it appears she hasn’t been exposed to these things much however, with a bit of encouragement she carries on fine. Gladys doesn’t really like to share food with others dogs, she’s not keen for them to have any from her bowl and she won’t take from other dogs bowl but if it’s left unattended it’s classed as common ground in her eyes and will quickly gobble it up. Gladys gets startled every now and again when you suddenly appear in her eye line when she couldn’t see you approaching due to having no vision in her right eye but she certainly doesn’t lack confidence because of this.
DIET: Gladys is fed dry dog biscuits (brekkies) with a little dog meat 2x daily. She also has tasted and enjoyed, luncheon meat, jam, peanut butter, apples, salt & vinegar crisps and cheese & onion crisps.
TRAINING: Gladys has had 1 accident in her foster home on the first week of her being there. Since then she has been clean, however she doesn’t always tell you she wants to go, you have to prompt her from time to time. She has learnt ‘sit’, ‘down’ and ‘bed’ since being in a foster home. She is used to sleeping in a crate at night times and is happy to do so.

Little Maya is a 2 year old Shitzu mix female. Her life was saved when we rescued her from the most awful public shelter in Romania. Now safe and being cared for in Staffordshire. Fully vaccinated, microchipped, spayed and even has her very own EU Pet Passport.

Little Maya is currently in foster with our charity in Staffordshire. She gets along very well with other dogs, prefers to bark at cats and parrots! Tye – 9 month old male Rottweiler cross Bull Mastiff
I’m Tye, a handsome hunk who is micro-chipped, vaccinated and who gets on well with others dogs, but is none too keen on cats! I will need someone who is experienced with larger breed dogs and will require time spent on further training as I have the basics already, but you will find me intelligent and a fast learner. I like nothing better than a rewarding walk and to have a ball thrown for me to fetch as I have high energy levels that I need to expend.

I love playing ‘go get it’ in the shelter’s enclosed area where I can have a good run about, but am always free for a rewarding cuddle afterwards. I am ready to find a caring owner for keeps this time and could be considered by a family with older, teenage children but I am exuberant, playful and lively so will need an owner who is strong and used to big lads like me.

Simply all I need is a second chance to shine, be valued and of course loved. So if you’re looking for a worthwhile addition to your household with a huge hearted softie who is seeking his permanent place, just call and ask for Tye, I’ll be waiting, I promise! Situated South East England, Hertfordshire.
Rocky – 18-24 month old male Cross-Breed
Meet Rocky, our big softie! Rocky is an 18-24 month old male crossbreed, who although can appear a little aloof at first, can be quite affectionate when he gets to know you and proves “never judge a book by its cover”. Rocky is quite a calm boy and isn’t over excitable or boisterous, however he doesn’t yet respond to any basic commands so will require a lot of training. Rocky is looking for a strong, confident owner, as he himself is quite strong-willed so will need someone in charge who won’t be a pushover.

Rocky loves to play with toys and sticks, so would like an owner that will enjoy playing fetch with him, but unfortunately he cannot be rehomed with children. Rocky has been fine with other dogs that he has met so far, so should be ok in a household with another female dog, but unfortunately will not be able to go to a household with cats or rabbits. He will be fully vaccinated, microchipped, wormed and flea treated.

Gizmo is a 4 year old male Yorkshire Terrier who was found as a stray. He is a sweet and happy boy who enjoys being around people. Ideally he would prefer to live with another dog. He can live with children aged 10 years plus and will be neutered prior to rehoming.

Could you give this gorgeous boy the forever home he deserves?
Betsy Bonny Betty Barbie and Bonzo – 10 week old male and female Cross-Breeds
Meet those adorable babies. When those little characters came to us, they were just a bag of bones, full of worms and frightened. They are now confident, happy and pleased with their new found comfort. We are not too sure what breed they are but were told possibly pointer cross. They are dainty little dogs with long ears like a lop eared rabbit. All they need is someone to love them and care for them for the rest of their lives.

There are four girls and one boy and have been wormed and received their first vaxination.

Those little angels are fosterered in North London. For homechecking purpose, we prefer prospective adopters to reside in London or neighbouring counties.
