Buster is a 2-year-old Lurcher who has been in the care of RSPCA Millbrook in Chobham, Surrey for 6 long months now. The poor boy is rarely enquired about and this is such a shame as he is a wonderful dog with lots of potential! Buster was found abandoned and straying and an owner was never traced. He seems to get passed by time and time again – unfortunately this is not uncommon with plain black dogs.
Buster needs someone who can appreciate his personality and knows that looks are only skin deep! He is a very bouncy, active dog who would benefit from attending training classes with his new family. He is lots of fun and loves to play with you and act the clown. He can also be calm and have cuddles on the sofa (see his video!). Buster can live with children around 12 years, possibly slightly younger.
Buster finds other dogs really exciting and wants to say hello to them – he is quite vocal when he sees them, so new owners will need to continue socialising him so he learns some proper doggy manners. He is better off lead so could possibly live as a second dog to the right dog – he lacks manners but listens when told off. He will need slow introductions and sensible and understanding owners. He can not live with cats.
Buster loves to play off lead and will chase toys but has not quite learnt to retrieve – he still thinks running after them is great fun though! His recall is fairly good but does need work. Buster will need a reasonably large garden to run in while he perfects his recall and learns better manners around dogs.
Buster needs someone at home for part of the day at first and may need refresher house training. If you have any questions about Buster please feel free to contact us via our Facebook page, or on the telephone number provided.
