Peggy Sue – 10 year old female Yorkshire Terrier

Peggy Sue is a 10 year old female Yorkshire Terrier who is currently in foster care in Hull. Peggy Sue is an active oldie who is very gentle, she loves to be sat near you having a snuggle. She was fantastic yesterday when we went to the vets, very well behaved. Her vaccination records state her d.o.b as 11/99, so she is only just 10. My friend came down today and Peggy Sue jumped straight onto her knee and lay there the whole time! Everyone who meets her loves her.

Peggy Sue is about 26cm high, she doesn’t like the tape measure so I’m not going to spook her! Peggy Sue is a very calm dog, she loves being sat next to you or on your knee. She is also very gentle and will make someone a fantastic companion.

Peggy Sue will take a walk with you if you would like the company but she does not ‘ask’ for a walk every day, she would be great for someone who had mobility issues and could not get out every day but still wanted the company. She does not pull on the lead, so again would suit anyone who was a little unsteady.

Peggy Sue has a big afraid little dog bark!! She only barks when someone is at the door, so is protecting you, however she will stop easily when told, and greets anyone at the door with a bit tail wag and a fuss. She also barks at the cat which comes in my garden (he tries to get into the Guinea Pigs cage and kill them – he’s already got in once) Max is scared of the cat (it attacked him) but Peggy Sue has seen him off. My Guinea Pigs are eternally greatfull to her but it is a consideration if you are a cat owner. I’m allergic to cats so cannot test what she would be like with them in the house…sorry. These are the only times she barks though so she is great!

Peggy Sue has been great with my children, she was a little nervous of them at first but once she realized they would not hurt her they have been her best friends! I would say she would be great with sensible older children/visiting grandchildren. Apart from the first day nerves (completely normal) she has had no accidents and simply goes to the back door to be let out when she needs to go. She is a very ‘easy to please’ dog and is going to make her new forever family very happy!

Anyone wishing to be considered for the adoption of Peggy Sue is required to complete an adoption form after reading all the adoption rules & procedures via the rescues website.
