Penny is a 3 year old female West Highland Terrier. Penny is a very smart people orientated girl who is clearly not looking her best at the moment she had an untreated flea allergy which left her skin very sore and she has lost quite a bit of her fur. This has been treated by the vets and is now coming along nicely although her coat will take a little time before she looks truly wonderful again. She was a bit underweight when she arrived but now has a great zest for life and loves her food.
Penny gets on well when meeting and greeting other dogs and is learning how to behave on a lead walk. Her recall is good. She will need to continue her training with her new owners, who will need to be around most of the time. Within a home setting, Penny gets on well with calm dogs who can take the lead. She could go to a home with experienced owners who have another/other confident dog/s or equally a home where she is the only dog. However, she would be better placed in a home without children. Older teenagers may be considered.
Penny eats and sleeps well within the home and would make a delightful companion. As she is a young dog, she will need plenty of opportunity for outdoor exercise. Penny is housetrained. Penny will be neutered, vaccinated and micro chipped and is up to date with flea and worming treatments. She is currently on foster near Hastings, East Sussex.
