Petra – 5 year old female Cross-Breed

Petra is a 5 year old female Cross Breed. She was a stray from the North of England and we do not know too much about her as yet. She seems to be okay with the dogs she has met at the kennels so far. Petra has clearly had a nice home as she is a lovely girl and well trained. She does not pull on the lead at all and she knows lots of commands including ‘sit, ’stay’ and ‘down’. Her recall is good and she gives her paw without expecting a treat! She is very gentle when accepting a treat and I would expect Petra to form a close bond with any new owner as she likes to be close to you when she is playing in the paddock.

Petra is a wonderfully gentle girl and would make someone a super companion and we are keen to see her in a nice home as soon as possible. Poor Petra must wonder what on earth has happened to her but to her credit she is coping well in kennels and is enjoying all the fuss and attention.

Do you have room in your heart and home for this brilliant girl? She is a nice natured girl and wants to be loved and enjoys any affection and I’m sure would settle in a new home. Please visit or phone the kennels direct to view Petra at your earliest convenience, or to find out any further information about her.

Please note, we operate a policy of NOT re-homing same sex dogs together, e.g. existing dog male then we would not allow another male dog to be re-homed with you. Same for females.

RSPCA Essex South West
The RSPCA Essex South West Branch is, like all RSPCA branches, an independent charitable trust. As such, it has to be financially self-supporting – in other words it has to raise the funds it needs to support its animal welfare activities. The Branch covers an area ranging from Dagenham & Barking in the South to Epping & Nazeing in the North, Waltham Abbey to the West and Abridge to the East. Although we do rehome our dogs to all other areas. The Branch is run and staffed entirely by volunteers. The main activity of the Branch is in rescuing and finding new homes for companion animals that for a variety of reasons are either homeless or cannot stay with their present owner. We work in partnership with Hillside Kennels telephone 01992 892881, who board our rescue dogs and carry out the rehoming process on our behalf. All dogs who are rehomed from us will have their initial course of vaccinations, worm and flea treatments and will be neutered. In the last eight years (to December 2012) the RSPCA ESSEX SOUTH WEST Branch has re-homed approximately 2200 cats and 1700 dogs. 220 dogs were re-homed in 2013.
